IMU EVB-Kit — Arduino UNO-Q based Evaluation Kit
Features
- Out-of-the-Box Evaluation
The kit combines an Arduino UNO-Q development board, a plug-in adapter set (PinBoard + BreakoutBoard) and a DAISCH IMU module. Mount the module, connect a single USB Type-C cable, and calibrated, temperature-compensated data with real-time attitude output is available within minutes — no low-level driver or algorithm development is required.
- Scalable Model Support
The kit currently supports the IM3J and IM8S industrial-grade 6-axis IMU modules on the same adapter set, with model switching as a compile-time option of the reference firmware. Its hardware interface and firmware architecture are designed to accommodate the majority of DAISCH’s self-developed IMU modules and ISC chips, and support for additional models will be introduced in line with market demand.
- Open-Source Reference Design
The demo firmware is a native Zephyr RTOS project released under Apache-2.0, covering the SPI driver adaptation layer, acquisition framework and UART protocol layer. It serves as a ready-made porting template for integrating DAISCH IMU modules and the DAISCH SDK into the user’s own hardware. The complete demo project for UNO-Q is published on GitHub.
- Complete Toolchain
Data is streamed over the USB serial port with a documented binary frame plus an ASCII command set ($DSIMC) for on-line configuration, and can be visualized directly in the DS_RVision PC software. Output rate is configurable by command without re-flashing. For details of the DS_RVision PC software, please refer to its product page on this website.
Applications
- IMU module evaluation and selection
- SDK and driver integration reference for custom hardware
- Rapid prototyping of attitude-measurement systems
- Algorithm development and verification
- Robotics, AMR and unmanned-vehicle pre-research
- Education and training
Product Description
DAISCH IMU EVB-Kit (IMU-UNO_EVK) is an evaluation kit built on the widely adopted Arduino UNO-Q open-source hardware platform. It connects a DAISCH industrial-grade 6-axis IMU module (currently IM3J and IM8S) to the UNO-Q board through a dedicated adapter set — a PinBoard that adapts the module's Molex connector to pin headers, and a BreakoutBoard that stacks onto the UNO-Q expansion headers — and delivers calibrated data out of the box: the integrated DAISCH SDK reads the factory calibration parameters stored in the module and outputs temperature-compensated three-axis acceleration and angular rate together with estimated attitude (Euler angles and quaternion), ready to view in the DS_RVision PC software over a single USB Type-C connection — lowering the technical barrier at the product-selection stage and shortening the development cycle.
The reference firmware is open source (Zephyr RTOS, Apache-2.0): the SPI driver adaptation, main program framework and serial protocol layer are published on GitHub as an integration reference that carries directly into the user's own product design. The core SDK is distributed as a closed static library through DAISCH authorization — after purchasing the product, please Contact Us to obtain the SDK matching your IMU module model.
What's in the Box
- Arduino UNO-Q development board × 1
- DAISCH IMU module (IM3J or IM8S, model as ordered) × 1
- PinBoard × 1 — module carrier that adapts the module's Molex connector to pin headers
- BreakoutBoard × 1 — bridges the PinBoard to the UNO-Q expansion headers
- M2 screws × 2 — fasten the IMU module onto the PinBoard
- USB-A to USB Type-C cable × 1
Assembly takes minutes: fasten the IMU module onto the PinBoard with the two M2 screws, plug the PinBoard into the BreakoutBoard, stack the BreakoutBoard onto the UNO-Q expansion headers, then connect the USB cable to your PC.
