Calibration & AutoCalix - DAISCH
Engineering-Grade Reliability

Real Calibration,
Not Just Nominal Specs.

We don't trust datasheet averages. Every single DAISCH sensor undergoes a rigorous temperature cycle powered by our proprietary AutoCalix™ system to eliminate thermal drift before it reaches you.

100% Production Testing

We don't rely on "Golden Samples." Every single unit runs through our automated rate tables before it's shipped to you.

Coverage: 100%

AutoCalix™ Engine

Proprietary calibration algorithms that generate a unique compensation matrix, burned directly into each sensor's EEPROM.

Method: 6-DOF Matrix

Full-Range Validated

Performance is guaranteed not just at room temperature (25°C), but across the entire harsh environment operating range.

-40°C to +105°C

Why Calibration Matters

MEMS sensors are physical silicon structures. They are inherently sensitive to stress, temperature, and mounting imperfections. Without calibration, raw data is unusable for navigation.

Ideal Real

Thermal Drift

Physics: Silicon expands and contracts with heat. This physical deformation changes the internal capacitance, causing the "Zero Point" to shift wildly as the sensor warms up.

Result: Heading Error > 10°/hr

Axis Misalignment

Physics: No chip is soldered perfectly flat. Even a 0.1° tilt causes "Cross-Axis Coupling," where acceleration on X leaks into Y, confusing the navigation algorithm.

Result: Position Drift in Turns

Scale Factor Error

Physics: The mechanical stiffness of the MEMS structure isn't perfectly linear. A 360° rotation might be measured as 358° or 362° depending on the rotation speed.

Result: 2% Distance Error

Division of Responsibility

We handle the complex physics in our lab so you only need to handle the integration in your field.

DAISCH Lab Factory Calibration
  • Intrinsic Errors: Thermal Bias, Scale Factor, Non-Linearity, Misalignment.
  • Equipment: 3-Axis Rate Tables & Thermal Chambers (-40~105°C).
  • Output: A permanent compensation matrix flashed into the EEPROM.
User Site Field Calibration
  • Extrinsic Errors: Installation Angle.
  • Equipment: Your Vehicle / Robot (No special tools).
  • Output: Mounting parameters saved via API commands.

Real-Time Compensation Loop

How the calibration data is applied inside the MCU at 500Hz.

Raw Sampling

Sensor captures raw angular rate and acceleration data, along with temperature data.

Embedded Correction

MCU retrieves parameters from Flash and applies the compensation formula in real-time.

Out = Matrix × (Raw - Error)

Calibrated Data

Output of clean, orthogonal, and temperature-stable data via UART/CAN to your host computer.

Why Integrators Choose AutoCalix™

Transforming complex sensor physics into plug-and-play engineering advantages.

Eliminate Production CapEx

Skip the $500k+ investment in rate tables and thermal chambers. We deliver pre-calibrated modules so you don't need to build a calibration line on your factory floor.

Offload Host Compute

The sensor's MCU handles the heavy floating-point matrix multiplication. Your host computer (MCU/SoC) receives clean data without wasting cycles on filtering.

Fleet Consistency

Whether you deploy 10 robots or 10,000, AutoCalix™ ensures every sensor behaves identically. Swap modules in the field without recalibrating your vehicle control stack.

Engineering FAQ

Reliability & Aging

Technical answers about sensor longevity, drift over time, and field maintenance.

MEMS structures are mechanically stable, but minor stress relaxation can occur over years. Our automotive-grade IMUs are rated for 10+ years of service life. The AutoCalix compensation matrix is permanent.
Full thermal calibration requires a temperature chamber and a precision rate table, which is usually only available in a factory setting. Moreover, the data we provide has already been compensated, so you don't need to do the compensation yourself.
If the sensor experiences a shock exceeding its absolute maximum rating (e.g., >2000g), the MEMS structure may permanently deform, shifting the bias. In this case, a simple offset recalibration is often enough to restore usability, but extreme damage may require unit replacement.
Our IMU does not include a magnetometer. Our IMUs have a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer.
Even in indoor environments, sensors self-heat during operation. A cold start in a warehouse might begin at 10°C and warm up to 50°C. Validating the full industrial range ensures linear performance across any thermal gradient your device might encounter.
Yes. Since every unit is individually processed, we store the calibration data linked to its serial number. For bulk orders, we can provide a Certificate of Calibration showing the residual error plots for each sensor in the batch.
Thanks to active temperature compensation, DAISCH sensors are valid immediately upon startup. You do not need to wait 10-20 minutes for thermal equilibrium like with uncalibrated commercial sensors.
